On 14 June 1985, the Schengen Agreement was signed, laying the foundations for a Europe of open borders.

During this guided tour, you will not only discover the European significance of the internationally renowned village, but also learn more about Luxembourg's largest wine-growing municipality.

  • A trained guide will lead you through Schengen and explain the development and significance of the Schengen Agreement as well as the regional (wine) culture.
  • After a short walk through the vineyards, you will reach the Markusberg with the St Mark's Tower visible from afar, which offers a marvellous view of the border triangle over a glass of wine or grape juice.
  • The price also includes free admission to the refurbished museum.

On 14 June 1985, the Schengen Agreement was signed, laying the foundations for a Europe of open borders. Today, the small winegrowing village in the border triangle of Germany, France and Luxembourg is synonymous with a borderless Europe.

A trained guide will lead you through Schengen and explain the development and significance of the Schengen Agreement as well as the regional (wine) culture. After a short walk through the vineyards, you will reach the Markusberg with the St Mark's Tower visible from afar, which offers a marvellous view of the border triangle over a glass of wine or grape juice.
